what a weekend

so this weekend has been busy, busy, busy. i guess i will break it up into days to blog about it (:
thurs: i reallyy wanted to go swimming so i could have some sun for the wedding. i txt dee to try to guilt her into abandoning wedding duties and us go swim for a few hours. i Finally talk her into it so i picked her up at dobbins and we headed to granny j's to meet my sis and the kids and have the first swimming trip of the year. here are some of the pics we took (:

after that we rushed home to get ready for rehearsal. we got thru and everything went good (: we went to randy's for rehearsal dinner and i stayed and talked to blakey probably like an hour and half. then headed home to finally get some sleep.

friday: i went to work and had the worst work day ever! okay maybe not ever but it was pretty lame. guess good old friday the 13th raised its ugly head. but after work i had a lot of fun with the girls (: me april and lexi almost hit a possum and i'm pretty sure all of our hearts stopped and me and april screamed at the top of our lungs. oh the joys of being a girl lol. we all went to dee's and hung out anf actually got in bed Before 4 a.m. (our usual bedtime) we figured we should get some shut eye for the big day sat (:

and finally, sat: wedding day!!! so i have been super excited about this day and dreading it all the same. i am beyond happy for devan and ethan (and you could see that day how happy they are) but i am reallyyy gonna miss her! i actually made it thru the ceremony without bursting into tears (which i thought i would do) but afterwards when i was helping her and e get their stuff she came and hugged me and i about lost it. idk what i'll do without my dee bug :( she'd definitely been my rock here lately. but like i said, i am sooo happy for them. i love you dee! you definitely deserve it (: here are some of the few pics i did get to take sat.

after the wedding i went to eat in scottsboro with april zach sarah erik brianna isaac and luke at bv. we basically just sat around and talked for a long time and took some bad pics haha. i had a ton of fun and i'm veryyy thankful for my friends :)

so last night we decided to have our first MNM in like, 2 years lol. and for once we actually had the guys come too (: it ended up being a Blast! and exactly what i needed. i love love love my friends (: we played sorry, ate some delicious homemade pizza, made a campfire and roasted marshmellows (at least i did anyway lol) and basically talked a whole bunch.

when i first came in erik was leaving to go to practice so we talked a min and he said he'd be back later so i headed on in to get some pizza. it was sooo yummy...i think mama kim mostly made it and i'm pretty sure she can cook for me everyday now (: after that me april blake and shaun sat around and talked about what to do for foreverrr. we finally decided to go outside to let me shoot a gun. after much guilting and begging, i still wouldn't do it (i Definitely was wayy too scared) april even tried but when i saw it attempt to take her arm off, that convinced me i wanted no part of that lol.

we went back in and played an awesome game of sorry and shaun definitely beat us :( it was pretty sad lol. after that we went outside to build a fire and wait for erik to get back with the marshmellows. me and april went over to her grandmothers to get some chairs and i walk in and hear rap music coming from the living room. i was like oh my goodness is she watching mtv??? turns out she was watching dwts, but it still cracked me up :) when we got back outside we tried to pick up sticks for awhile till blake finally got like an entire tree out of the woods and pulled it into their yard lol. erik Finally showed up, four years later, but i was the only one who actually wanted a marshmellow :( i cooked a few, took some pics, then we headed inside.

after that we played some more sorry (in which i Dominated!) and ate some yummy icecream :) then sadly, i had to go back home, but i am soo glad we got together because it definitely made my week better. i love you guys :) here are some pics we took :)

so after reading part of my easter post i decided i wanted to right a post and tell some stories about my grandparents. easter was the last time i got to be with them, and even then i was getting cracked up at grandmother. she cooked SO much food....like always. you'd think she had to feed an army! but that was my grandmother...she always was afraid we wouldn't have enough (this has prolly Never happened in the history of her cooking for our get-togethers) so we always have tons left over. she was always making us laugh with the crazy stuff she did.
i definitely definitely developed a love of phase ten from these two. they had us playing as far back as i can remember. granddaddy would take out the skips because he didn't like playing with them, and grandmother always wanted us to let her make up her own rules. one time she got upset at granddaddy for not letting her cheat, so she tossed her cards across the table. we always crack up telling that story, and i can still picture it in my mind.
one time grandmother and aunt vida went to a grocery store i believe and grandmother saw a popcorn tin can that she wanted, and there was a bunch all stacked up in a piramid. well instead of taking one off the top, she decides to take one right out of the middle. i will assume you know what happens next. right when they start falling she starts screaming just standing there looking at them haha until aunt vida told her to hush. sadly i missed seeing this one, but it gets told in our family a lot.
i remember spending So many summers at my grandparents house with a lot of the other grandkids. we were talking this week and she would have like 7 of us there at a time. i never realized how much patience my grandparents had, but they were always so good to us, and paid us so much attention. she always loved to have us over.
one time when i was prolly 6 or 7 they decided to go on vacation...i cant remember where....but they took me with them. i remember mom sending me some spending money and them taking me to buy a toy :) and going back to the hotel and watching dances with wolves haha. i'm so thankful i went with them, and that i still remember it a little.
one thing i will Always associate with my grandparents is a movie called "seven brides for seven brothers"...its an Old movie that probably nobody but my family likes, but we love it. i have watched that movie so much its just ridiculous. my grandparents loved it and so its probably one of the first movies i ever seen haha. we used to watch it all. the. time. at their house. its so good and if you ever have a chance, you should check it out :)
i may not get this exactly right, because this testimony was Way before my time, but i'll try my best. when they were younger, grandmother and granddaddy didn't have a lot of money, and i think they just barely had money left over each week for food. grandmother just told granddaddy to worry about the bills, and she'd put food on the table. well she had canned some food and put it in a box under her bed. from what i understand, it wasn't that much. but she prayed the Lord would provide them food and she would reach under there without looking in the box and pull out cans for food. i think it lasted them all winter on just that one box! those are the kind of testimonies i hope to have one day.
there are tons and tons of stories we've been told all thru the years, some we witnessed, some we just got to laugh about later. and you guys will probably get to read more over the next few months. so just look forward to probably some good laughs :)

well this week has been completely insane, to say the least. i really, really, cannot express how thankful i am for all of the wonderful, amazing people in my life. we have had soo many calls, texts, and visits since wednesday, it's been crazy. and i am so so truly appreciative. anyone who thought they might possibly be a bother, trust me, being with people has helped us more than anything. we've had so many offers of food, hot showers, a place to sleep, a place to wash clothes....pretty much anything we needed at all. i don't hardly know what we would have done without everybody. so honestly, if you have prayed for us, thought about us, tried to contact us in any way just to send a good word, THANK YOU! we love you all very very much!!!
we are Finally with power here...thank you Lord! it seems such a petty thing to be happy about tho, with so many without even a home. i am so so grateful that the Lord spared our home with absolutely no damage. i know it could have been a lot different and my prayers go out to all of those who are suffering along with us, for whatever their loss.
it has definitely not been a great 5 days, but we are making it :) things seem to be a lot better. we have been over at grandmother and granddaddy's land a lot just going thru debris trying to find anything that would be worth saving. sat me kenzie james april and blake all headed over there to try to help my family sort thru everything. after we stayed there awhile we went to eat in trenton then headed back to my house and just sat on the porch and played phase ten and talked to xander and analeigh :) then we took them out back to play some very very unorganized softball. it was nice to just have some time just to feel like things were back to normal. me blake and april headed back over there today to try to finish up some of the stuff for mom. and let me tell you, they have been like my little support team. they have been so willing to help and do anything at all that i need. i love you guys so stinkin much! i really appreciate how amazing ya'll have been this week! after that we headed to south pittsburg to eat and pick up some stuff and then headed back to the mtn. tonight i've just been hanging out at uncle perry and aunt angie's with everyone then back here straightening up since the power finally came back on :)
whenever i find out funeral arrangements i will try to post them on here....and if you are reading them, spread the word around. we're trying to get the info out in time for people to be able to come. and anybody can feel free to txt me and ask about it, but i will send out a txt to most people i think want to know whenever i find out.
hope everyone is doing well and making it okay thru all of this. please continue to pray for my family if you think about it, they definitely need it. lots and lots of love to everybody!
